New Chapel at River Terrace Estates
Hand shovels were replaced by earth moving equipment as construction on the River Terrace Estates Chapel began. The Advisory Committee along with Rod Craft, executive director, and David Stewart, CEO, were on hand for the groundbreaking event.
The Chapel is located in a wooded setting behind the main campus of River Terrace Estates, located just outside of Bluffton on State Road 116 West.
The purpose of the Chapel is to foster the spiritual needs of the people who live at River Terrace Estates and the surrounding community, according to River Terrace Estates Executive Director Rod Craft. “We see this as part of a holistic approach of caring for our residents,” he says. “The new chapel at River Terrace Estates enhances our commitment to the residents’ spiritual welfare.”
Craft adds that local churches and pastors are encouraged to consider using the chapel for services and other functions. “The major focus of the building will be as a chapel,” he says, “but it could serve as a vital location for other activities, such as prayer meetings, family reunions, dinners, lectures, and parties.”
“The River Terrace Estates Board of Directors along with the Advisory Committee is to be commended for its willingness to envision a place that fosters the social, intellectual, emotional, physical, and spiritual needs of its residents,” says Craft. “With the addition of the new River Terrace Estates Chapel, we now have that opportunity.”
